21st century revival Tudor style homes

Tudor style is a beautiful old-fashioned design inspired by the Tudor period (1485–1603), a style of English-Gothic architecture AND one of my all-time favourites.

Classic Tudor homes were characterized by the following:
  • Decorative half-timbering
  • Steeply pitched roof
  • Prominent cross gables
  • Tall, narrow doors and windows
  • Small window panes
  • Large chimneys, often topped with decorative chimney pots

Forget carpet, go for hard flooring. Hard wood or stone is ideal for achieving an authentic look. Plus easier to clean!
For added warmth and comfort though, lay down some nice traditional style rugs.
If you're looking to stick close to the traditional style you'll want dark wood. Oak is probably your best choice. The general colour scheme of the house is mostly deep, rich colours , ruby red, dark, forest green and a rich, amber-gold.
